We’ve all been there—trying to finish “just one more thing” as your toddler is hanging off your leg begging for a snack RIGHT NOW before they melt into a pile of tantruming mush on the floor.
“I just need two more minutes!” Used to be the catch-phrase I found myself repeating any time I tried to do something for my business.
But then, getting interrupted took at least 1.5 of those two minutes, and I lost focus, and had to try even harder to get whatever it was done that I started in the first place.
This was my life for way too long, as I struggled trying to be an entrepreneur in the early days of motherhood. And just when I had a good routine going, I added another baby to the mix, shattering everything back into chaos.
And then I did that whole process again, when we welcomed our third child into the world, giving me three kids under age five. But that third time was much different.
Instead of struggling through every moment, feeling guilty for wanting to run a business when I “should be focusing on my babies,” feeling like a crappy entrepreneur for never putting my business first, and all of the other mind drama that women struggle with in motherhood + entrepreneurship, I found much more peace in each of the two roles.
So What Changed?
Obviously, I’ve gotten older and wiser, but I won’t pretend that age or experience has anything to do with the wisdom I gained as I tried to gracefully juggle the chaos of mom life with being an entrepreneur.
Truthfully, I struggled A LOT and I tried (and failed) A LOT before I came up with a system that actually works when it comes to being a more productive biz mom.
And since I’ve struggled so much and the process was long, slow, and often painful, I’ve made it my mission to help other biz moms shortcut the process (and heartache) so that they can find the peace and freedom that I eventually came to in the end.

The Key Is Productivity (that actually works for you)
The problem with most productivity advice out there is that it wasn’t designed for the busy mom who is trying to juggle #AllTheThings. Of course, if you had four hours to block out and sit quietly at your desk with your steaming hot cup of coffee and zero interruptions, you’d get a ton of work done for your business each day.
But if you’re here reading this post, then we both know that won’t work for you.
And it’s my goal to help you find ways to be successful at this whole motherhood + entrepreneurship thing. That’s why I’ve created this ultimate guide for you. Juggling work and family is hard, but it's not impossible. Being interrupted is a part of motherhood (which every mom who has ever tried going to the bathroom alone knows all too well!). But it can be especially frustrating when you’re trying to work on something for your business. In this post, I’m sharing three practical strategies you can use next time you get interrupted to help you not get so frustrated. They will also help keep you productive despite the chaos swirling around you!

When it’s time for you to work, you don’t have time to mess around. So when it comes to writing for your business, whether you have a blog, an email list, social media accounts, or any of the above, it’s important to put your best foot forward. But if you don’t have time (or the energy) to spend hours editing every piece of writing you create, then Grammarly is the tool for you. It’s a free online grammar checker (and so much more) and in this post, I’m going to show you why it’s the perfect productivity tool for every biz mom.
I’m not against screens, but I also don’t want my kids turning into screen zombies while I’m trying to work from home. And if I turned on the TV every time I wanted to get something done, well, then it would probably stay on 24/7! That’s not practical or a sustainable way to balance motherhood + entrepreneurship. In this post, I’m sharing nine of my favorite, tried-and-true ways to keep your toddler busy while you work from home.
The key to a productive week is setting yourself up for success. Creating a Sunday planning routine will help you have a more productive (and less stressful) week, and in this post I’m going to walk you through my simple Sunday planning system.
Being able to manage your time effectively is key to being a productive biz mom. And it doesn’t have to be super complicated! Having a better handle on time management will free up more time and energy for you to focus on the things you love instead of just struggling to keep the house from falling apart. In this post, I’m sharing eight of my most helpful tips for managing your time and saving your sanity, no matter how much chaos is in your home!
If you’ve ever said “I just don’t have time for my business with the kids,” then this is the post for you. A big part of being more productive is also learning how to be more consistent. I’m blowing the lid off of five secrets to help you be more consistent, and therefore more productive in this post.
As I’m sure you’re now realizing, if you want to run an online business from home while chasing toddlers and babies, but you’re so busy that you feel like you don’t have any time, read this post. It will help you find more time in your busy morning to actually work on your business. (But I promise, no 5 am club here!)
As a busy biz mom, it can feel hard to stay on track in your business. To find the time to do anything consistently, much less work on your business through the chaos of #momlife can feel nearly impossible. That’s why you need to create a routine to help you stay on track to continue to grow your business, and this post will walk you through how to do just that.
You wouldn’t go on a road trip without (Google) maps, would you? Nope. And that’s exactly why you shouldn’t coast through the day-to-day stuff in your business without a vision board! This simple exercise is so important to keeping you productive in your business, and I'm breaking it all down for you in this post.
PLR is the unsung hero when it comes to saving time and increasing your productivity in your business! PLR stands for private label rights, and it’s usually marketed as “done-for-you” content. You can use it for your business however you want! But I suggest not using it “as is,” but rather using it as starter content. It helps fight the staring-at-a-blank-screen-wondering-what-to-write-or-create-next effect. Check out this post to learn how PLR is the productivity tool you didn’t know you were missing!
After realizing every productivity expert drank the same “wake up at 5 am if you want to be successful” KoolAid, I made it a personal mission to prove us night owls could be successful too. But not being a morning person doesn’t mean we can’t benefit from morning routines. In fact, I’d argue that having a morning routine is even MORE important for non-morning people. What do you think? Read this post and let me know.
